Today I am talking about consequences from a kids perspective. I am the oldest of five kids in my family, and like most older children, I sometimes wish my siblings would listen to me. They in turn want me to not be so harsh. I will admit I can be harsh, and bossy, but my argument is that I wouldn’t be so bossy if they would listen. Well we have all experienced situations like this. I was tired of it so I went to mom. Always the best place to go in situations like this.
I told her that I wished me and Lady Z ( the one who I get into fights the most with ) could trade places for a day. I said that it would be a good learning experience for her if she was allowed to boss me around and I was allowed to ignore her. Mom said she wasn’t creative enough for that. She said to pray about it. So I did pray some, but forgot about it later. Mom didn’t though. A little later that day, she announced that if Lady Z didn’t obey me she would be my personal servant for the day. The same went for Garfunkel, ( my brother ). If she didn’t obey him,she would be his personal servant. She was allowed to file a complaint to mom about our rules, but only after she had obeyed them.
The first day went well but the second day Lady Glitter Sparkles disobeyed me. Well mom carried out her threat, and I had a personal servant for the day. I felt mean bossing her around but mom said I had to give her jobs to teach her to obey. I had her do a few dishes, help clean more than usual, and fold laundry. Some how I feel like she might obey a little better in the future.
Your’s truly a homeschool kid.
Love it!!!
